Risolve un fenomeno nel quale l’apertura impostata cambia inaspettatamente quando si registra un filmato in modalità manuale utilizzando alcuni obiettivi Canon (come ad esempio gli obiettivi macro).

Color Accent post-processing software
It was a long time I was looking for Color Accent software because all the Canon cameras I got, don’t have Color Accent feature. Today I found it, but it is for windows users only. I hope to find something similar for Mac. Before this tool, I used to apply black and white to the whole photo, and used redo brush to get back colors on the portion selected. I will continue to use that method only for multicolor subjects, but for one color or color range it is faster the tool below.
Install Paint.Net and this set of filter from Kris Vandermotten in which you can find Color Accent. Just use the tool “Pick a Color” and apply the effect “Color Accent” pressing the arrow button or adjusting levels manually.
I have uploaded some samples on flickr (look at the window on the right) and I’m sure I will use this tool a lot.

Aggiornamento firmware lettore DVD Samsung DVD-H1080
Oggi ho risolto un grande problema per tutti i possessori del lettore dvd in oggetto: l’aggiornamento del firmware. Infatti qualche minuto fa ho aggiornato con successo il mio lettore. Il mio modello è quello nero lucido europeo, ma penso che la procedura sia uguale per tutti i modelli.
Ieri ho comprato questo modello per vari motivi tra cui il prezzo basso, aver letto che era performante e che supportava molti formati da fonti diverse (cd, cdr, cdrw, dvd, dvdr, dvdrw, usb) e soprattutto perché ha un bel design, lontano dai classici scatolotti. Ho pensato fosse perfetto per stare vicino alla mia TV LCD Samsung in cucina.
Non appena sono arrivato a casa ho subito scaricato il firmware ed ho provato tutti i metodi suggeriti dal manuale più qualche variante per aggiornare l’apparecchio anche mettendo il file in una pen drive vuota. In questo modo ho brucato solo un paio di cdr e un dvdr perché ho perlopiù usato riscrivibili, ma in ogni caso non c’era verso: ogni supporto risultava illeggibile.

Samsung DVD-H1080 Player firmware upgrade
Today I solved a big issue for all the owners of the dvd player in subject: firmware upgrade. Infact about 5 minutes ago I upgraded mine. My version is the european black version but I think the procedure is identycal for all models.
Yesterday I bought it because it is cheap, performant and first of all, it is beautiful, not squared like all the others dvd player. It is perfect for my LCD TV in the kitchen.
As soon as I arrived at my home I downloaded the firmware and tryed every way to upgrade my unit following instructions on manual and also trying to put the file in a pen drive. I burnt a couple of cdr only because I used cdrw and one dvd+rw but there were no reason: it didn’t work.
But today I tryed something different: thinking about Samsung LCD TV firmware upgrade that worked well from a pen drive, I worked on it also for the player… and I DID IT!!!
All you have to do is:
- rename the long name file with H1080A.bin.
- copy it to the main directory with some media files and insert it with the player turned off.
- turn on the player and wait for the prompt to check if you have already the last version installed.
- push play and wait.
- the unit will shut off automatically at the end.
- if you want to be sure you have upgraded your unit leave the pen drive and repeat point 3 checking versions’ comparison. If versions are the same, turn off the player, otherwise go on to point 4.
- remove pen drive and delete the firmware file in order to use the pen for multimedia files.
I hope this procedure will help all of Samsung fans.
PS: My pen drive was a FAT32 2Gb with some media files like jpg, mp3, avi, divx, mpg, etc..

Alcuni trucchi per ebay
1. Prima di tutto un metodo immediato è l’uso di parole specifiche in chiavi di ricerca multiple secondo le regole di ricerca avanzata che potrete trovare in questa pagina. Ad esempio, per cercare magliette nere O rosse ma non vecchie la stringa di ricerca sarà: maglietta (nera,nero,rosso,rossa) -vecchia. Se invece la volete nera E rossa sarà: maglietta (nera,nero) (rosso,rossa) -vecchia, ovvero le combinazioni intrecciate.
2. Un ulteriore metodo altrettanto veloce e poco conosciuto è quello di cercare gli oggetti in base alla errata trascrizione dei nomi. Questo lavoro può essere fatto anche a mano, ma con un enorme dispendio di tempo. Altrimenti si può ricorrere a siti gratuiti quali Goofbay. Il sito ad oggi integra varie funzionalità tra cui anche uno sniper ovvero un sistema di offerta dell’ultimo secondo. Se lo si vuole usare con questa funzione bisogna registrarsi e solo se ci si aggiudica l’oggetto si versa una quota minima a Goofbay. Attenzione a non confonderlo con gli Ads di Google presenti nella pagina. Goofbay permette la ricerca attraverso lo misspelling ovvero come su detto, l’errata trascrizione del titolo. Questo servizio è gratuito e necessita solamente della scelta della nazione in cui si vuole effettuare la ricerca. Ad esempio, se cercate cellular phone in UK, vi mostrerà tutti gli annunci che hanno cellular phone nel titolo, ma scritto con errori, tipo cllular phone, celular phone, cellulr pone, ecc. In Italia potete cercare televisore e vi appariranno tlvisore, televissore ecc. Questo strumento è utile per monitorare oggetti che altrimenti non ricevono offerte e quindi aggiudicarseli al prezzo minimo a causa di un errore del venditore. Potete anche installarvi la toolbar.
3. L’ultimo metodo, un po’ lungo come tempi di risposta, è quello di usare questa pagina di ebay per chiedere in automatico a tutti i venditori di una certa categoria cosa state cercando, descrivendo il più dettagliatamente possibile l’oggetto o lo scopo per cui vi serve, magari allegando una foto di un oggetto simile o un disegno. Le risposte arriveranno via email. Nella stessa pagina, i venditori possono sfogliare le ricerche degli acquirenti, nel caso in cui avessero cancellato le email pervenute.
